For more than eight years, Valarie has served on the Rambler Youth Football Board and has raised over $100,000 to support youth football and cheer programs. She coaches cheer for students from kindergarten through 12th grade, all while working a full-time job and raising two daughters as a single parent.
Last year, Valarie even used her own paycheck to provide cheerleaders with free shoes and practice clothes. She regularly hosts team dinners and organizes creative fundraisers, including a goat-snuggling event in town. Coach Val gives so much of her time and energy to make sure every team has what they need.
Because of her dedication, the middle school and high school cheer teams (programs that had been gone for more than a decade) are back. This year, she’s working toward raising over $10,000 to purchase proper cheer mats for the teams.
